Patch 0.21.772 is live on Evrima and the highlights mention Austroraptor, more mangrove area, and extra skin patterns/palettes. My first instinct is to jump straight in, but I've been burned before by assuming every old setting or third-party app is still current after a patch.

For people who track updates closely, what's your normal checklist? I'm thinking update Steam, confirm I'm on the right branch, read the patch notes, then check the product's own status page before launching anything extra. Anything obvious missing?

That checklist is basically it. The game patch being live doesn't automatically tell you anything about third-party compatibility.

Also restart Steam if the update doesn't show up. The official announcement mentions that as a basic step.

Austroraptor being added is the headline for me. I am absolutely going to forget the new water jump key and embarrass myself.

The product page itself says its status is current only and should be re-checked after patches. Don't treat an old status screenshot like a permanent certificate.

And if something errors, grab the exact game build and error text. "It broke" is relatable, but it doesn't give support much to work with.
